The murderer, wearing a green T-shirt and shorts, listened to more than 30 victim impact statements without showing any emotion. The relatives of the Quorn double murder victims this morning told a packed courtroom of the pain, despair and fury caused by Omonte-Extrada.

'He was in a hurry to get away from her (Ms Fullerton) as fast as he could,' she said. She said Omonte-Extrada killed Ms Fullerton in front of Ms Wild, who was still alive, and then later inflicted two further post-mortem injuries. 'We will never know about what he intended to do there,' she said. She said Omonte-Extrada made no effort to get help for Ms Wild, instead driving her to Quorn with the intention of taking her to a vacant house on Groves Rd that he had scoped out days earlier. 'She was disabled in a very bad way,' Ms Richardson said. She said Omonte-Extrada - who was not licensed to drive - overpowered Ms Wild and forced her into his SES vehicle. In sentencing submissions this afternoon, prosecutor Robyn Richardson said Omonte-Extrada drove to Port Pirie - armed with an axe and a knife - and arrived about 8.30pm. The court today for the first time heard how Omonte-Extrada - who was an SES volunteer - had used an SES axe for the fatal blows. Justice Kelly said Omonte-Extrada then took Ms Wild to nearby Flower Rd, where he killed her by striking her nine times to the head with the axe. 'The murder of Ms Fullerton was an opportunistic and impulsive response to her arrival on the scene,' she said. Justice Kelly said Omonte-Extrada had 'panicked' before striking Ms Fullerton once with the axe to knock her unconscious and then a further seven times to ensure he killed her. When Ms Fullerton, 22, stumbled across them on her way home, Omonte-Extrada murdered her on Groves Rd with the axe in front of Ms Wild. He stabbed the 16-year-old 29 times to the head, face and arms and then drove her - still alive - in a 'dangerous fashion' to Quorn. Justice Kelly said Omonte-Extrada's advances had been spurned by Ms Wild - so he armed himself with his knife and an SES axe and drove 120km from Quorn to Port Pirie to kill her on December 4 last year. Justice Trish Kelly today sentenced Omonte-Extrada, 20, to life in prison with a non-parole period of 33 years.
